It's so easy seeing you doing it but I find it quite difficult, I can spin using a spindel but have not yet managed to control the spinning wheel. Maybe I just need to practice more :)
It is as you say, practice, I have spun every day since I lerned how, my yarn did certanly not look like that in the beginning. :) But I found that spindle spinning hurt my sholder. Use a slow whorl, a double treadle is easyer to tredle slowly, and a nice sticky yarn, such as shetland to begin with. :)
Thank you for your advise. I think I have got a reason to buy me a new spinning wheel :) I have an old icelandic spinning wheel which is not working properly.
It is hard to practice on a wheel that does not work well. I would have liked to try some wheels before I bough one, but there are none to try here. My Kromski minstrel worked real well for me, and they are not so expensive and I have heard great things about the louet Julia.
