Now I am getting somewhere. These samples are knitted in the round with 2,5 mm needles over 60 stitches. The left one has four stripes of about 6 rows each and the right one has three stripes of about 8 rows. Now I just have to choose a sock yarn with the right price, feel and fiber content. I know it is lovely with cashmere and merino wool, but if you spend hours and countless stitches to make a pair of socks, I think you would like them to hold for a while, and that means a nylon content of at least 20%. And there is no point in finding a cheep yarn if it is not of quality enough so your customers (and you) like it and become returning ones. Quality is more important than price.
