New fancy sock patter: Hijiri Sensitive Socks!  This is a basic sock pattern for those of us who might have a bit more sensitive feet than others. Christmas decorating, that is a bit of a first for me. Christmas is a bit too hectic and stressful for me, so I tend to take it very lightly and mostly stick with some lights and candles. The Crock Pot is here! No, I am not going to start slow cooking, I am going to dye in it. It is perfect for that, it heats from the sides, it stays just under boiling or lower, you don't need to be on the stove in the kitchen, it has a glass lid, it is sturdy and it seems to do the job really well. I am experimenting wildly, a film will pop up sooner or later, and Ill tell you all more about it

This is a new pattern of mine, using an afterthought heel but with a gusset of sorts. They are very comfortable with no digging in or strangling of the foot. Great pattern for hand spun, wildly variegated or self striping yarn. The Marmolejo Socks are for sale at Ravelry! Real home made soft and salty pretzels. I love soft pretzels, I got the taste for them during a trip to Munic, I never could find them here in Sweden, now I can bake them my self. Baking pretzels contain boiling them in salty water before they go into the oven, which makes them crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Yummy! Next bagels!

The sock yarns are slowly but surely becoming more and more colorful! I have made up a great way for me to dye them that I really like. I dye them in a big pot on the stove, first I make a base coat of a lighter color, then I make a knot (or two) in the hank (using insulated gloves, hot! ajaj) and put on a second coat of a stronger color, remove the knot, shake the skein out and I tie another

I got a bit inspired by the knitmore girls podcast and though I would learn to knit without looking. This is easier than it sounds because if you have been knitting for a reasonable long time, your hands will know what to do on there own. Some of the bonuses with this technique is that you can knit while reading, watching a movie or in my case riding in the car without getting carsick. It worked

Here in Sweden it's now cold enough for hand-knitted socks. Good about the socks not so good about the cold. But it is turning into one of those beautiful sunny crisp autumns. I love autumn, I just don't love the six months of darkness that follows.

I really love these square double pointed needles, great to hold on to, lovely slipperyness, pointy enough and pretty too. They are from kollage yarns and I bought them at limmo design. Today we went to Sheep Day here on the islands! Any day where I get to pet sheep is a good day. So, I headed straight for the fluffy lovelies.  Some sheep were very cuddly and nice. My take on the Kraftcolour Landscape Dyes. I ordered a sample pack from Wingham Wool Work with a yellow, red, blue, green, black and a purplish hot pink. They came in little "hard to manage with gloves" plastic bags, with instructions and a pair of flimsy gloves that was usable one time. This is my first try at spinning my own lovingly hand dyed (rolled up and steamed) roving. It is Falkland and totally yummy. I love these colours and I did a chain ply to keep the sequence intact. I am very happy with this and myself. Pretty!

Yes, I made plarn. Plastic yarn, made from mostly "coop" plastic bags. And I even span it on my spinning wheel... and I plyed it too... and then I knitted a little flower basket.... and planted a yellow snapdragon (lejongap) in it. The snapdragon was the high note of the whole thing.
